 Fellowship Trained Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon
"Children are not just little Adults."
This philosophy is the cornerstone of my practice. I firmly believe that "Children" should not be treated as small adults as their needs are special and require care by someone trained for just their needs. I am a board certified Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon. I completed my orthopaedic residency at the Chicago and
Olympia Fields Osteopathic Medical Centers, with extensive training in children's orthopaedics at Rush Medical Center, Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, and at the Wyler's Children's Hospital of the
University of Chicago. I then went on to a Children's Orthopaedic Fellowship under Dr. Alvin Crawford at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center with specialized training in spinal deformity surgery.
I have been in the Northwest Indiana area since 1989 and practice all aspects of children's orthopaedics and spinal deformity surgery. I maintain offices in Hobart, Crown Point.
I am on staff at St. Mary's in Hobart, St. Anthony Crown Point, Pinnacle Hospital in Merrillville, and Hind Hospital in Hobart.
I have published numerous articles in such referred journals as "The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery", "Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research", "The Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics", and "Spine". I have given lectures all over the world from Stockholm to Brussels, Istanbul to Athens, Singapore to Beijing, Malaysia to Seoul, and Rio de Janeiro to Buenos Aires. I have been visiting professor for
Children's Orthopaedics at the Beijing Children's Hospital, The Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital, and Nemours Children's Hospital.
I also have been active in researching alternative bone graft substitutes in children's orthopaedics, developing a new pediatric external fixator, and in the development of new techniques in the treatment of
neuromuscular foot deformities.
I am active with many communities in working with local grade and high school athletes, providing school scoliosis screening, and lecturing to community groups.
